What Is So Important About Hips?
🔹 Your hips are important for posture, walking and running.
🔹 Depending on the position that your pelvis is positioned can affect the surrounding muscles in your quadriceps, hamstrings, lower back muscles, and gluteus muscles.
How Can The Position Of Your Hips Throw Your Whole Body Out Of Alignment?

Let’s Say You Are Postured In A Posterior Tilt:
➡️ You may have too much hamstring tension! Hamstrings are the muscles at the back of your thigh. Hamstring muscles help with dropping your hip down & extending your leg behind your body. If your hamstring muscles get too tight this can make your hip drop too much causing a chronic posterior tilt.
Let’s Say You Are Postured In An Anterior Tilt:
➡️ Anterior tilt can be caused by excessive sitting or lack of physical activity. If you are seated for a large portion of your day, your hip flexor muscles can start to tighten and stay in a contracted position.
➡️ Your hip extensor muscles will have to compensate and will have lengthening of your gluteus muscles and hamstrings. As a result, your gluteus muscles and hamstrings will become weak.
➡️ Similarly, your spinal extensor muscles are going to be put under increased stress while your lower spine is in an exaggerated curve which will cause lengthening and weakness in your lower abdominal muscles.
What Can Happen To Your Muscles If They Stay In A Stretched or Tightened Position?
🙆🏽♀️ Stretch weakness develops from muscles remaining in an elongated position, even just slightly beyond the physiologically normal resting position.
😣 Tightness that develops from muscles remaining in a shortened position and is called adaptive shortening. With time this can create a contracture that may need a physical therapist to assist with stretching out.

🚨 Success Story Spotlight 🚨
I’ve experienced mild outer hip pain for nearly two decades and had tried different approaches over the years that didn’t yield any relief. I wanted to begin training for a marathon but was worried I would worsen the hip pain or injure myself in the process. I saw an ad for Pro+Kinetix and thought why not check it out — and I am so glad I did!
Dr. Leone Baron has changed my life. In just a few sessions, the pain was almost entirely gone, my flexibility got better, and I could already see the improvements to my running form. She demonstrated proper form for the exercises and gave me a simple and easy program to do on my own between sessions.
It’s now been a few months, and I’m pain-free and on track with my training, hiking, and doing all the activities I love! For anyone considering Pro+Kinetix, I highly recommend it.
