Muscle strain refers to a condition where the fibers of muscle are torn by excessive stretching or weight-bearing. It occurs when the body is subject to more mechanical force than it can bear. A ligament strain is equivalent to muscle strain

Classifications for Muscle Injury

Depending on the severity of the injury and the type of muscle affected, there are three types of muscle strain.

  • Grade 1 injury

It affects only a small number of fibers and does not alter the movement of muscles. Even though pain and tenderness do not feel immediately, symptoms can be felt for up to 24 hours.

  • Grade 2 injury

This type of injury can cause muscle fibers to be almost entirely torn. The degree of movement also becomes compromised. The muscle is immediately injected with pain and tenderness.

  • Grade 3 injury

Causes

These are the most common causes of muscle strain.

  • There is no need to warm up before engaging in extreme physical activity
  • Unsanely placing something heavy in a position that is not appropriate
  • Put more weight on your muscle than you can bear.
  • Fatigue
  • Sport like rowing or tennis
  • Poor posture

Signs

Muscle strains are most commonly characterized by the following symptoms:

  • Sudden onset or recurrence of swear pain, depending on the extent of damage
  • Muscle soreness
  • Bruises
  • Fatigue and weakness
  • Mobilization: No compromise
  • Muscle spasms
  • Steadiness in the region

Treatment

Physical therapy is the only treatment that can treat a muscle strain and reduce symptoms. Physical therapy can be tailored to the specific injury.

  • Grade 1 injury

Most patients don’t recognize a grade 1 injury and feel only mild pain. This type of injury does not cover any treatment.

  • Grade 2 injury

Because of the pain, this type of injury can be immediately recognized by patients. Ice is applied immediately to 2nd-grade injuries.   • Grade 3 injury
