Bird Dog Pose

This exercise will help focus your glutes. It can also help target your core muscles and arm muscles.

To perform this exercise

  • Start by getting on your knees and lowering your hands.
  • Now, place your hands on the ground at shoulder-width.
  • With your neck straight and in line to your spine, look down.
  • Engage your core. Next, extend your left arm straight out and right leg straight out to the rest of your body.
  • This should be held for 10 seconds
  • Return to your starting point
  • You can repeat the exercise on the opposite side. Repeat 5 to 7 times on each side.


This exercise will strengthen your quadriceps muscles and hamstrings. You will also be able to get a complete-body workout from this exercise.

  • With your knees bent, lie flat on your back and place your feet on the ground.
  • Place your palms on the floor and place your hands at your sides.
  • Now, tighten your glutes and abs while pushing off your heels. Lift your bottom off of the ground.
  • You should be careful not to overextend or arch your back. Keep your pelvis neutral.

Straight Leg Raise (on Your Side)

This exercise helps to strengthen the anterior hip flexors and the oblique muscles on your legs.

  • Lie on one side
  • For extra stability, you can bend your bottom leg slightly or keep it straight.
  • Now, keep your top foot straight and lift it slightly towards the ceiling.
  • While doing this exercise, you must ensure that your hips don’t move forward or backward.
